We are social beings.  Life requires social interaction of all types - fun, annoying, humorous, tiring, awkward, boring and the list goes on.  These are learned skills, not ones we are born knowing how to do.  The teen brain is a sponge and incredibly sentitive to social situations.  Learning these skills now sets the stage for a healthy adult life.

"Teach me and I will forget, show me and I will remember, involve me and I will understand."

A group situation allows opportunities to improve social skills, learn from others, practice skills with each other and develop confidence and improve self-esteem by mastering important life skils in a social context.

What (is group)?

Group Therapy Video

The groups will be ongoing by semester.  If one member leaves, a new member could join at any time.  We will take a winter break, spring break and summer break.  Groups will be evaluated during summer break and changes may or may not be made.  I recommend who attends which group based on the best fit for the individual and the group.  New members will join after being assessed by me. If a child is a part of the group, they will have two prearranged excused absences each group term (semester). Otherwise they are expected to be in group until we decide that it is no longer beneficial.

Group 1 - Mondays 5:00-6:30pm

Group 2 - Tuesday 5:00-6:30pm

Group 3 - Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm

Group 4 - Thursdays 5:00pm - 6:30pm
